What is the Employee Holiday Fund?
Once a year, Members of the Pelican Yacht Club have the opportunity to contribute to the Employee Holiday Fund, which is distributed to the employees before Christmas as a way to thank them and wish them happiness during the holidays.
Does every employee receive a gift from the Employee Holiday Fund?
Yes, every employee receives a check from the Employee Holiday Fund. At the time of this FAQ, we have 49 employees. We have many employees who work "behind the scenes" who are vitally important to the operation and mission of the Pelican. While we are able to say "thank you" to our more visible staff at any time, this gives us an opportunity to also say "thank you" to the staff working behind the scenes.
Does every employee receive the same amount?
No. Every employee receives a base amount, and many employees will receive higher amounts.
How does an employee receive more than the base amount?
An employee must be in "good standing" to receive more than the base amount.
Are there other factors that influence how much an employee receives?
Yes, the other factors include how long an employee has worked at the Pelican Yacht Club and the average number of hours worked per week. Management will identify employees who go above and beyond in their service to the Members and the Club's operations and mission, and these employees will receive additional.
Can I have my contribution charged to my account?
Yes, you can have your contribution put on your monthly bill. Please email or call the office.
Can I write a check?
Yes, you may bring a check to the Club and give it to Jim Alexiou. General Manager, take it to the Business Office or mail it in.

Is there a deadline?
There is no deadline, but we would like to receive all contributions by December 1st. If we receive your contribution after gifts are distributed, then we will put your contribution in the fund for 2025.
